Premnath's Journey
रत्नागिरी जिल्ह्यातील, संगमेश्वर तालुक्यात, सह्याद्रीच्या पायथ्याशी
असलेले भोवडे हे छोटेसे गाव, येथे 1970 साली माझा जन्म झाला.
राहण्यास चांगले घर नाही. खाण्यासाठी पुरेसे अन्न नाही.
घरामध्ये कोणी कमवता नाही. आई वडील, पाच भाऊ आणि एक बहीण असा परिवार.
आईवडिलांनी मोलमजुरी करून, कसाबसा परिवार चालवून , यथाशक्ती सर्वांना
थोडे थोडे शिक्षण दिले. कधीकधी घरामध्ये खायला पुरेसे अन्न सुध्दा नसायचे
त्यावेळी फणस खाऊन दिवस काढायचे.
अशा या प्रवासातून मी मनाशी एक निश्चय केला आणि माझ्या
जीवनाचा प्रवास सुरू झाला. शाळेत शिक्षण घेत असताना मे महिन्याच्या
सुट्टीत मुले खेळण्यासाठी वेळ घालवत असत.
परंतु मी या सुट्टीत कढीपत्ता
याचा व्यवसाय करायचा. कढीपत्ता या व्यवसायात एवढ्या कमी वयात 50 किलो वजन
आणणारा एकच लहान मुलगा म्हणजेच प्रेमनाथ ठोंबरे. ते पण 10 ते 15
कि.मी.अंतरावरून. पायामध्ये साधी चप्पलही नाही. शाळेत जाण्यासाठी एकच
ड्रेस तो पण वर्षभर एकच धुवून घालायचा
शेती करून शिक्षण कसेबसे दहावी पर्यंत गावी केले. गरिबी
आणि हालअपेष्टा सहन सहन करून काढलेले दिवस मला स्वस्थ बसू देत नव्हते,
माझ्या डोळ्यासमोर पुढचे चित्र उभे राहत होते ते म्हणजे आई-वडील आणि पाच
भावंडांच्या पालन पोषणाचे. मोल मजुरी करून सगळ्यांचा
उदर निर्वाह भागत
नसे, मग मनाशी निश्चय केला मन कठोर करून, मनाशी जिद्द बाळगून काहीही झाले
तरी शहरात जाऊन थोड्या फार पैशाची नोकरी करावी आणि त्यामधून मिळालेल्या
पैशातून कुटुंबातील सदस्यांचा उदर निर्वाह आणि थेट मुंबई गाठली. मुंबईत पहिले भाड्याचे घर 1988 भाडे
700 प्रती महीना .माझी पहिली नोकरी 1988 , हाऊसकिपरची आणि शेवटची नोकरी
2010 , ग्रुप जनरल मॅनेजर, या नोकरीच्या कालावधी मध्ये 25 हून जास्त
परफॉर्मन्स ऑर्डर्स. आता सन 2010 पासून यशस्वी बीझनेस मॅन म्हणून वाटचाल
करीत आहे.भागवायचा.
माझ्या जीवनामध्ये वाटचाल करीत असताना मी ज्या शाळेत शिकलो , ज्या
समाजात वाढलो त्यांचे आपण काहीतरी देणे लागतो अन् त्या शाळेसाठी ,
समाजासाठी काहीतरी करावे ही माझ्या मनाची भावना होती.
परंतु आर्थिक बाजू कमकुवत असल्यामुळे ते जमत नव्हते. पण मी
जसजसा स्थिरस्थावर होवू लागलो तसतसा सामाजिक बांधिलकीच्या जाणिवेतून जमेल
तशी मदतीचा हात देणे सुरु केले. प्राथमिक शाळेस कपाट भेट दिले.
विद्यार्थी संगणापासून वंच्छीत राहू नये या जाणीवेतून माध्यमिक शाळेस
संगणक संच सुपुर्त केला. त्याचप्रमाणे विद्यार्थ्यांना इंग्रजी चांगल्या
प्रकारे लिहिता वाचता यावे म्हणून २५००० शब्दकोश असणाऱ्या डिक्शनरी
दिल्या.
महान समाजसेवक डॉ. प्रकाश बाबा आमटे यांना भेटून त्याच्या
संस्थेला फुल ना फुलाची पाकळी म्हणून मदत करुन त्यांचे दोन्ही उभयतानी
आशिर्वाद घेतले. हे माझे मी भाग्य समजतो. मुंबई येथे असलेल्या रोटरी
क्लब अॉफ इंडिया या संस्थेसही अल्प अशी मदत केली जी संस्था अंधांसाठी काम
करते. तसेच गोव्यातील गोवा असोशिएशन संस्थेलाही हातभार लावला जी संस्था
मुंबईतील कँन्सरग्रस्तांना मदत करते. भडकंबा गावचा विद्यार्थ्यांचा
शैक्षणिक साहित्य वाटप असो किंवा देवडे गावातील दहावी, बारावी ,
ग्रँज्युएट विद्यार्थ्यांचा गुणगौरव कार्यक्रम असो वा भोवडे बी सी सी
मंडळाचा ज्येष्ठ नागरिकांचा सत्कार , याठिकाणीही मदतीचा खारीचा वाटा
माझ्याकडून घडला आहे.
शिवाय मलाड मधील चार अनाथ आश्रम आहेत तेथे वृध्द , मुले ,
मुली राहतात तेथे दर महिन्यातून एकदा भेट देवून आमच्या गृप मार्फत
यथाशक्ती काही ना काही मदत करत असतो.
अशा बऱ्याचशा उपक्रमासाठी माझा छोटासा हातभार मी माझ्या
परीने करत असतो आणि त्याचे मला वेगळेच समाधान मिळते.
माझ्या खडतर प्रवासात अनेक जणांचा हातभार आहे. माझे आई
वडील, मित्र, शिक्षक , माझा परिवार, माझे कस्टमर , वेंडर या सर्वांचे मला
बहुमोल मार्गदर्शन व सहाय्य लाभले. त्यामुळेच मी इथपर्यंत मजल मारू शकलो.
या सर्वांचा मी कायम ऋणी राहील.

असा हा माझा जीवन प्रवास

I was born in a small and backward village called Bhowade, District Rantagiri.In those days, there was no transport available, no proper roads, no proper school and colleges in our village. I was born to a very poor family in year 1970, we were 6 siblings, my father and mother used to work as daily wage workers in farms which belonged to others and earn their lively hood.They used live on their day to day meager earnings and it was difficult to make both ends meet with 6 siblings to feed.There were days whenwe had no food to cook and eat
in our house.We used to eat Jackfruit to fill our stomach.
During my childhood days children inthe village used to play, but in my case,
I did not have the privilege to play with the children because I had to do different kinds oflabour jobs to help my family
We did not have proper clothes to wear nor footwear.We use to walk bear feet and sometimes thorns and stones poked my feet. I used towalk 8 to 10 kms from my house to pluckKadipataleaves and sell them in my village. In those days, I use to sell I kg Kadipatafor just 50 paise.
used to carry 50 kgs at a time on my head and that was the highestI
carrying capacity of a child.At times I used to be rewarded with
RS 5 which had lotsof value in my village.Inspite of all the difficulties and hardship, I still managed to complete my 10th standard in my village itself. My family had lots of debts to clear and it was just not possible to work in the village and clear these debts. . I thought for a while and decided that the only way I can clear my family’s debts is by going out of my village and working in the city. In the year 1988, my 2nd innings started when I moved to Mumbai, the city of Dreams.
Since I did not have any place to stay, I stayed with my cousin brother and used get a salary of RS 90 per month.Within 6 months I got a job as a housekeeper in a company called‘Hinditron Computers Pvt.Ltd’ which was dealing in computers, with a monthly salary of RS 600 pm.Since I always had a keen interest in learning new things, I was automatically attracted towards computers. I started to learn and slowly started to work on computers. Even after my working hours, I used to sit and work for long hours on computers. Slowly and steadily, I started teaching
basic computers to those children in my area who could not afford.Soon I started teaching basic computer courses in small institutes and started earning some extra income.In the year 1995,I joined another IT Software company called ‘Onward Novel India Pvt. Ltd’ as an Assistant Peon for a monthly salary of RS 1,300/- there I met Mr. Samir Shroff, Head of Finance who acted as my godfather and supported me in everything I did. I was also fortunate enough to meet another dynamic personality called Mr. Anil Noronha, HR Head who mentored, groomed and motivated me.I managed to scale great heights only because of Mr. Anil
Noronha.
Few years later at Onward Novell, a new Administration
Manager, Mr. Wency Pereira joined the company and under his able guidance I learnt many new things in Administration and vendor management, soon I completely mastered the subject. It is onlybecause of his trust and faith in me, he gave me a free hand to do all the purchases in the company. This helped me to build upmy data base with all manufactures and whole sellers. While Mr. Wency Pereira was my Boss, he always treated me like a friend and involved me in all the Admin activities.It was at Onward Novel again that I became good friends with some interesting people
likeRamesh Suvarna and Anil Shah who were always there to help and guidemotivated me.
Infact they were the ones to push and motivateme in opening up my own Business. In year 2005 I decided to quit Onward Novell to pursue new challenges. On my last working day, our great CMD Mr. Harish Mehta(we fondly called himHarisbhai), a down to earth person called me in his cabin and gave me 2 visiting cards, one personal and the other official.He said to me if I ever needed money or a job, to just pick up the phone and call him, he would always be there for me whenever I needed him.
I Joined a large Jewelry company called ‘TribhovandasBhimjiZaveri
Ltd’ (TBZ) as Purchase and Admin Head, for the company.There were 800 staff
in the company and I worked from 2005 to 2008 in this company.I got a better opportunity to work in a large cartridge manufacturing company called‘AB Cartridge Pvt. Ltd’. The owner of the company andalso my Guru Mr. Anil Bhadhuria is a self-made man.He is a very hardworking and a visionary who started from scratch and took his business to great heights.I joined this company as ‘General Manager’ of the group, he had complete faith and trust in my capabilities. This gave me the confidence to give my best and do big ticket saving for the company. During my tenure in this
company, I received more than 25 awards. All this was possible only because
of the help, support and blessings I got from my special friends.
Mr. Bhadhuria introduced me to new ventures and also boosted me to do something on my own.It is only because of the support of my friends,I am successfully surviving in this competitive world.of the help, support and blessings I got from my special friends.

I am grateful and thank each of my mentors, my
gurus, my friends, my vendors and my dear customer who have always supported me through thick n thin.Today, even though I am fairly successful in my business, I have not forgotten my earlier struggling days. Hence, I have starting doing a bit of charity in my own little way byhelping the under privilege children. I have already donated Cupboards, English Dictionaries and few computers to the school in my village. I have also given decent donation to Dr. Baba Amte‘s cause,Rotary Club and Anat Ashram in Malad. God willing, I will strive to do many more charitable work in future too.
